Windgap undertakes a number of fund-raising events throughout the year to help build our resources.  The annual Windgap Gala Ball is the centrepiece of our Fundraising Events Calendar.    Over 7 years it has become a prominent Sydney social event.  The Ball has been held in prestigious venues, including the ballrooms of different hotels, the Australian Jockey Club at Randwick Racecourse twice, the Sydney Cricket Ground Ballroom twice, and in 2018 the venue will be Doltone House, Eveleigh.

The evening combines a fun-filled spectacle with the powerful endeavour of raising much needed funds for Windgap.   Over the years funds raised at the balls have bought a new hoist van to transport our clients, hoists for our homes, enabled our “Youth Transition to Work” and “ Transition to Retirement” programs, funded our Hospitality and Learning Centre and has fed funds into our continuing building of accommodation programs.

Each year there is a different theme, with music, entertainment & decoration to match that theme. You will be most likely to find the 450 or so attendees also DRESSED according to the theme as well. This year we wonder what we will see at the ELECTRIC BLUE ball?

The Gala Ball is a large scale event that has provided memorable moments for its attendees, as well as having delivered a range of resources and outcomes that have changed the lives of our service users. Windgap is very appreciative of the efforts of Volunteer Ball Convenor Maggi Brown. Maggi introduced the idea of a ball seven years ago and with a small band of volunteers has devoted countless hours of work, making this event the success it is today.

The Gala Ball attracts a wide variety of attendees.   We have welcomed celebrities, politicians, mayors & councillors, business people, friends and families of Windgap.  All are welcome.  We are delighted to have several Sydney businesses support us by purchasing Corporate tables.  We are privileged to have a great group of donors & sponsors that support us on a consistent basis.   We would love to add to this list & we offer a range of benefits, including significant coverage in our publications, media exposure & business loyalty from the Windgap body.  To enquire about Ball Sponsorship please contact Windgap on 8337 3600.

Help is always so appreciated so do think about becoming a volunteer committee member.

We always need assistance, be it in the form of organising, donating items for our auctions or raffle, volunteering to sell raffle tickets.   Whether you can give a few hours of your time, or become a major sponsor, there is no contribution too small that is not appreciated by Windgap.

Come and join us in a very special night.

St Patrick’s Day

st patricks day 02

Windgap hosts the St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast annually on the 17th of March! The breakfast includes Full Buffet, Guinness on Tap and plenty of entertainment from live bands, Irish dancers and comedians. On the day, we also run a raffle with some great prizes. The day is a great opportunity to catch up with friends, family, colleagues and clients to support a great cause and enjoy Irish hospitality at its finest.

Walk with Windgap

Every September, our Supported Employees, Service Participants and Staff walk across the Harbour Bridge as part of the Family Fun Run component of the Blackmores Running Festival. It is a beautiful day full of fun and cheer with a rare opportunity to walk across the bridge and marvel at Sydney’s most picturesque and beautiful sites. Members of team Windgap represent with “Walk With Windgap” shirts and fundraise within the community for completing the challenge. We would love for you to join us and see how truly inspirational (and competitive) our service users and staff are. If you have an interest in running, and would like to push yourself a little further, we would love to have representation at the Marathon events on the day, and for you to choose Windgap as your charity of choice.

For more information on events generally, please contact our Fundraising Coordinator: Darrin Gordon on 0450 300 555 or email on
