‘I first came to Windgap for work experience when I was attending Minerva High School. I have been working in the workshop since April 2004. Windgap Enterprises have helped me manage my anxiety and I now have fewer panic attacks at work. Staff have patiently sat with me, training me so I know what to do. There are exercises each day before lunch where we are improving our fitness, and we are currently in training for the ‘Walk with Windgap’ where we will walk across the Harbour Bridge.
‘I also like at the workshop people treating each other well, because no-one likes being treated unfairly. At times when I have had a panic attack there has always been someone there to help me and this has helped reduce the time I have taken to recover from the attacks. I found good friends at Windgap like Craig, Gerrard and Stephen.
‘I was very happy when I won awards for being a quiet achiever. I like counting and using the scales. I like the Zetco assembly and repacking. I like all the work we do really.’
